There’s hundreds of search result aggregators (and there’s A9 too) out there but Dogpile caught my attention for 1. The clean cut UI and the responsiveness, 2. The relevance formula it uses with the parallel background searches data and the resulting output. I’m going to use it for a while and see how I get along.

Microsoft launched the Simple Sharing Extensions initiative. The concept is great and I’m impressed about where it came from. We live to be amazed. The dinosaurs of the old IT economy are getting in to it.
Jivesoftware just announced the Asterisk-IM project which integrates the opensource Asterisk PBX with their Jive XMPP/Jabber server. This unification is already supported by their own jabber client Spark, but others may work fine. They’ve also released a proto-JEP for developers wiling to follow their way. Meanwhile Jingle is moving along fast and steady, and support from the main XMPP providers and server implementations is expected . Interesting times ahead.

I’m flooded with hundreds of Ajax/Web2.0 (yes, I know the purists will say it’s not the same thing bla bla) a day. So instead of referring the great stuff I find so often (which would also flood this blog) I created a collaborative wiki page with my Ajax feed to start with, and my OPML file.
SkiTunes provides a nice alternative for iTunes for those who still wish the former was just a simple MP3 player and not a bloated multimedia player… well, you know iTunes.
RSSOwl seems interesting. It’s full featured, works on all platforms Mac, Linux and Windows taking advantage of the local OS. Could it be the Mozilla for RSS readers ?
Rick Dangerous is one of my all time favorite games since the C64 and Amiga eras. I’ve seen all kinds of ports for this game, now there’s one in flash, and it’s amazingly acurate to the original and very playable too.
