MySQL going public

that MacFUSE and sshfs rule. It’s a great bonus for my dev environment. Now I can move/copy files from one server to the other as if they were local but more importantly I can use Textmate more often to edit them. And sshfs works very well I must say.
If anyone makes the Windows version of FUSE, we’ll instantly have dozens (hundreds?) of truly cross platform filesystems making the operating system’s filesystem support somewhat secondary. Abstraction and programming is great. Another good example (side topic) is what Mysql is doing with their plugable storage engines in the 5.x series. Check this out.
If you keep an eye on electronics like I do but your hard-core days are gone and you already forgot the resistors color codes AND you have a Mac, then you’ll find this amusing.

It seems that Europe will have it, finally. Of course you’ll need a BMW X5 or higher to get it.
During these post-PPC times and before this arrives, is it just me or are these dudes (respected dudes that is) wasting a one-time major opportunity to massively show Mac users how a great, native, opensource office solution would kick Office 2007 off our hard-drives ? No, DO NOT show me the light.
If you, like me, have almost two decades of “vi” usage but really want to give Textmate a try, then you may find this background cheatsheet usefull.
